Shop LED bollard lights for walkways, entrances, and pathways. Find outdoor and commercial LED bollard lights built for durability, efficiency, and low maintenance.
LED bollard lights are a practical fixture type for illuminating walkways, pathways, and pedestrian areas while maintaining a clean, professional appearance. Contractors and property managers rely on bollard lighting to improve visibility, help reduce trip hazards, and guide foot traffic without overwhelming the surrounding environment. Unlike traditional outdoor lighting, LED bollard lights can use less energy than many legacy fixtures while delivering consistent ground-level illumination. Their long operating life reduces maintenance requirements, making them a practical choice for commercial and municipal properties. LED technology also produces less waste heat than many legacy sources, which can support fixture life when the product is matched to the environment. Outdoor bollard lights are designed to perform reliably when their rating matches the site conditions. Durable housings, sealed optics, and corrosion-resistant finishes support long-term performance in exposed environments.

Commercial LED bollard lights are available in several configurations to support different lighting goals. Understanding these options helps ensure proper coverage and compliance. Standard Bollard Lights: Well suited for walkways, entrances, and landscaped paths.
Full Cutoff Bollard Lights: Designed to reduce glare and light spill. This supports dark-sky compliance. Directional Bollard Lights: Focus light forward or downward to guide pedestrians. Decorative Bollards: Combine architectural design with functional illumination.
Solar Bollard Lights: Used in locations without access to power infrastructure.
Selecting the right bollard lights depends on application, spacing, and performance requirements. Light Output: Measured in lumens, bollard lights typically provide low-level illumination for safety and guidance.
Color Temperature: Warm white creates a welcoming atmosphere, and neutral white improves visibility in commercial spaces. Mounting Height: Bollard height impacts light distribution and spacing requirements. Durability: Look for outdoor-rated fixtures with appropriate IP ratings for moisture and dust resistance.
Compliance: Full cutoff designs help meet local lighting ordinances and reduce light pollution.
LED bollard lights reduce energy consumption and operating costs while delivering long-term reliability. Long rated lives can reduce replacement frequency when fixtures are specified for the site and maintained correctly.
Environmentally, LEDs reduce energy use and replacement frequency compared with many legacy sources.
For bollard projects, focus on fixture height, distribution pattern, spacing, voltage, mounting base, and pedestrian safety. LED Light Expert can help compare pathway, commercial, and decorative bollard options for walkways, campuses, retail centers, parks, and public spaces.
Standard bollard lights range from 30 to 42 inches tall. This positions the light source at approximately knee to waist height. This low mounting height is intentional; bollards illuminate pathways and ground-level features without causing glare at eye level. For ADA-compliant installations, bollards should not protrude into the accessible route in a way that creates a tripping hazard, and cane-detectable base dimensions should be considered.
For pathway and walkway lighting, bollard lights are typically spaced 10 to 15 feet apart to maintain continuous, even ground illumination between fixtures. The exact spacing depends on the bollard's lumen output, beam spread, and the target foot-candle level. For decorative applications where even illumination is less critical, spacing can extend to 20 feet. A photometric layout specific to your bollard model will give the most accurate spacing recommendation.
Most commercial bollard lights require a concrete footing or foundation for structural stability, typically a 12-inch diameter by 24 to 36-inch deep concrete base with embedded conduit for the electrical supply. Some bollard models offer surface-mount or stake-mount options for lighter-duty applications on existing concrete or soft ground. For high-traffic commercial areas, in-ground concrete foundations are strongly recommended to prevent bollards from being knocked over by vehicles, carts, or foot traffic.
Solar bollard lights work well for pathways, gardens, and decorative landscape applications where moderate light output is acceptable and running electrical conduit would be disruptive or cost-prohibitive. Most solar bollards produce 100 to 400 lumens, which is sufficient for wayfinding and accent lighting. For commercial applications requiring higher output (500+ lumens), consistent brightness throughout the night, or reliable operation in northern climates with limited winter sun, wired bollard lights are the better choice. Solar models also require periodic battery replacement every 2 to 4 years.
