Light Poles and Kits Sale - $250 Off - Summer Offers 2026

Choosing the Right Pole Height

Pole height is the single most important decision in any outdoor lighting project because it determines light distribution, uniformity, and fixture count. For standard parking lot lighting, 20-foot poles are the most common choice — they provide wide coverage with fewer fixtures and keep maintenance accessible with a standard bucket truck. Larger commercial lots and roadway applications typically use 25-30 foot poles to maximize spacing between fixtures, reducing the total number of poles needed. Pathways, walkways, and building perimeters work best with 10-15 foot poles paired with post-top lights or bollard fixtures for pedestrian-scale illumination.

Steel vs. Aluminum Poles

Steel poles offer the highest wind-load ratings and are the standard choice for parking lots, roadways, and any application where structural strength is the priority. They handle heavy fixture loads and withstand harsh weather in all climate zones. Aluminum poles are lighter, corrosion-resistant without galvanization, and easier to install — making them a strong choice for coastal environments, campuses, and applications where salt air or moisture is a concern. Both materials are available in round and square profiles with multiple base configurations. Our lighting specialists can help you match the right pole material and profile to your project requirements and local building codes.
