Wall-mounted LED flood lights provide adjustable outdoor illumination for security, landscapes, loading areas, signs, and building exteriors.
LED wall mount security flood lights are outdoor lighting fixtures that use light-emitting diodes (LEDs) as the light source. LEDs are semiconductor devices that convert electricity into light. This is more efficient and durable than traditional incandescent or fluorescent lamps. LED wall mount security flood lights produce a strong and uniform light that covers a large area while reducing glare, hot spots, and dark spots when aimed correctly. They are well suited for enhancing the security and visibility of homes, businesses, and other outdoor spaces.

Wall-mounted LED flood lights come in several configurations for different applications. Single-head fixtures provide focused illumination in one direction and are the most common choice for building facades and loading docks. Dual-head and triple-head models mount on a single bracket but aim independently, covering wider areas from a single junction box, which works well for parking lot corners and building entries. Yoke-mount (trunnion) floods attach via a U-shaped bracket that allows vertical and horizontal aiming adjustment in the field. Slim-profile floods use a flat, low-profile housing that sits closer to the wall surface. This reduces wind load and visual bulk on storefronts. Motion-activated models integrate a PIR sensor directly into the fixture housing, combining security detection and illumination in one unit without separate sensor wiring.
LED wall mount security flood lights are selected by color temperature, mounting method, and light distribution. Color temperature describes the hue of the light in Kelvin: lower Kelvin values appear warmer and more yellow, while higher Kelvin values appear cooler and brighter white. 3000K is common for warmer exterior areas, while 5000K is common for security, work, and commercial visibility.
Mounting method determines how the fixture attaches and aims. J-box mounted fixtures connect to an electrical junction box. Direct-mounted fixtures attach to the wall or surface with screws or bolts. Yoke-mounted fixtures use a metal bracket that allows angle adjustment. Flood-mounted fixtures can be tilted up or down from a plate or bracket.
Light distribution determines how the beam spreads over the target area. Narrow distribution creates a spotlight effect for longer throw. Medium distribution balances distance and coverage. Wide and very wide distribution cover larger areas for yards, loading zones, parking edges, and building exteriors. For security lighting, aim for even coverage at doors, drives, yards, and loading areas rather than one harsh bright spot. Choose IP65 or IP66 fixtures for exposed walls, add surge protection on commercial electrical systems, and use motion sensors or photocells when lights only need to run during certain hours.
Wall packs are enclosed fixtures that mount flush against a building wall and project light forward and downward in a controlled pattern. Wall-mounted flood lights use a bracket or yoke mount that holds the fixture away from the wall. This lets the beam be aimed after installation. Flood lights typically produce a wider, more powerful beam and are used for illuminating large areas like sports courts, parking lots, or building facades from a wall-mounted position.
The throw distance depends on wattage, beam angle, and mounting height. A higher-wattage LED flood light mounted at an appropriate height can reach farther from the wall than a small residential fixture, but the actual throw depends on lumens, beam angle, aiming, mounting height, and the required light level at the target. Narrower beam angles (25 to 40 degrees) concentrate light for longer throw distances, and wider beams (60 to 120 degrees) cover more area but with lower intensity at distance.
Quality commercial LED flood lights carry an IP65 or IP66 ingress protection rating, meaning they are rated for defined dust and water exposure according to the fixture IP rating. Look for the IP rating on the product specifications. Fixtures rated IP65 or higher can be used on exposed exterior walls when the product rating matches the installation conditions.
For residential driveways and small areas, 20 to 50 watt LED wall-mounted flood lights provide sufficient illumination. Medium commercial spaces like loading docks need 50 to 100 watts, and large parking areas and building perimeters may require 100 to 200 watts or more depending on mounting height and coverage area.
