LED troffer lights replace fluorescent grid fixtures in offices, schools, healthcare spaces, retail areas, government buildings, and other commercial drop ceilings. They are typically selected in 2x2, 2x4, or 1x4 sizes to match existing ceiling openings.
Good troffer selection starts with fixture size, delivered lumens, color temperature, CRI, lens style, dimming compatibility, and ceiling height. A direct replacement can be simple, but the layout should still deliver comfortable, even light for the room.
2x2 troffers work well in smaller rooms, corridors, offices, and support spaces. 2x4 troffers are common in open offices, classrooms, retail areas, and larger commercial rooms.
Many LED troffers support 0-10V dimming, occupancy sensors, daylight harvesting, or building automation. Confirm driver compatibility before pairing the fixture with controls.
Some projects use retrofit kits inside existing housings. Others replace the full fixture. The choice depends on fixture condition, labor access, desired appearance, and control requirements.

Troffers should provide even illumination without visible flicker, harsh glare, or uneven color. 3500K to 4000K is common for offices, schools, and healthcare spaces. 80 CRI is common for general use, while 90+ CRI can help in color-sensitive environments.
When replacing fluorescent fixtures, compare the existing fixture count, ceiling grid, target foot-candles, and control needs. LED troffers can reduce energy use and lamp maintenance, but the best result comes from matching the fixture to the room rather than simply replacing watts.
LED troffer lights are often chosen by businesses that want a cleaner, more uniform ceiling fixture for offices, classrooms, retail spaces, and healthcare rooms. A troffer should fit the drop ceiling grid, produce the needed light level, and avoid glare for people working below it.
Compared with fluorescent tubes, LED troffers can reduce energy costs and lower maintenance because there are fewer lamp changes. They can also provide a modern lens design, better color options, and dimming support when paired with compatible controls.
Primary selection details include 2x2, 2x4, or 1x4 size, output in lumens, fixture depth, driver access, color temperature, CRI, and whether the ceiling requires a retrofit kit or full fixture replacement.
Common LED troffer sizes are 2x2, 2x4, and 1x4 for standard suspended ceiling grids. Select the size that matches the ceiling opening and the light level needed for the room.
Yes. LED troffers are commonly used to replace fluorescent grid fixtures in offices, schools, healthcare spaces, retail areas, and commercial buildings. Some projects use full fixture replacement, while others use retrofit kits.
Many commercial LED troffers support 0-10V dimming, and some support wireless controls or building automation systems. Confirm driver compatibility before pairing fixtures with sensors or dimmers.
Troffers are recessed grid fixtures designed for suspended ceilings. Panel lights are thinner fixtures that can be recessed, surface-mounted, or suspended with the right kit. Both can provide even office-style illumination.
3500K to 4000K is common for offices, schools, and healthcare spaces. 5000K may be used in task-heavy rooms, while warmer light can work in hospitality or public-facing interiors.
80 CRI is common for general commercial spaces. Healthcare, retail, studios, and color-sensitive work areas may benefit from 90+ CRI fixtures.
Use the products above as a starting point, then confirm ceiling grid size, delivered lumens, color temperature, CRI, and controls.

Contact UsA troffer is a rectangular light fixture designed to drop into a suspended ceiling grid, sitting flush with the tiles around it. The name is a contraction of trough and coffer, describing the recessed shape. Troffers are the standard fixture in offices, schools, clinics, and retail back-of-house across most of the commercial world, and for decades they held fluorescent tubes.
Troffers come in a small number of standard sizes matched to ceiling grids. The most common are 2x4, meaning two feet by four feet, followed by 2x2 and 1x4. Because the sizes are standardised, replacing a fluorescent troffer with an LED troffer is usually a straightforward swap into the existing grid opening.
LED troffers have displaced fluorescent for several reasons beyond efficiency. They emit no ultraviolet, which fluorescent tubes do, and they produce more useful lumens - light delivered onto the work plane rather than trapped in the fixture or thrown at the ceiling. They also contain no mercury, which removes a disposal requirement that fluorescent tubes carry.
On service life, LED troffers run up to 100,000 hours, and DLC Premium listed models are required to maintain 90% of their output at 36,000 hours. In an office running twelve hours a day that is a fixture that will outlast most tenancies, which is the real argument in a building where changing a ceiling fixture means scaffolding over occupied desks.
Troffer pricing follows size and lumen package, and the two common approaches are a complete new troffer or a retrofit kit that fits into the existing housing. Retrofit kits are cheaper and faster where the existing troffer bodies are in good condition; complete fixtures make more sense where the housings are aged or the ceiling is being renovated anyway.
What comes with every order:
Send the grid size, the fixture count, the ceiling height, and what the space is used for. Offices, classrooms, and clinical areas have different light level and colour rendering requirements, and getting the specification right matters more in a space people occupy all day than it does in a warehouse.
