Lighting choices can have a significant impact on the visual appeal and psychological well-being of the home environment. It is widely known that poor lighting quality can negatively affect the mood, performance, and health of the occupants, resulting in symptoms such as depression, irritability, fatigue, and aggression (Veitch & McColl, 2001). Therefore, it is important to avoid some of the common erroneous lighting decisions that can make homes look unattractive and unpleasant. One of the common erroneous lighting decisions is using conventional lighting solutions, such as incandescent bulbs and halogens. However, these options have become outdated and undesirable for several reasons. First, they have higher emission levels and electricity consumption, which are harmful for the environment and the budget. Second, they have possibilities of vision impairment, as they can cause eye strain, headaches, and blurred vision. Third, they often have too yellow or too blue tones, which can distort the original color of the walls or the interiors.

On innumerable studies that have been conducted on how humans react to their environments, it has been seen that quality of lights can elevate or lower moods by significant extents.
