How to Calculate Energy Savings of Going LED? - First we determine how many watts you are using and for how many hours, that will give you kilowatt hours or KW/h. Next we multiply that times energy rates, about .19 an hour but varies wildly state to state with California as high as .35 an hour. That gives us the cost and thus the savings.
